Add to Memories Tell a Friend
His cheek was struck by the forceful, brisk winds, leaving a red, throbbing mark in its place. Thrusting his once-warm hands into his jeans pockets, he looked up into the falling snowflakes, closed his eyes, and opened his mouth. His breath, a white fog, was allowed to be released by his paradisiacal teeth, and he opened his eyelids once more, looking around with flawless blue orbs. He was alone on the street light-lit road, and for that, he was grateful. Slowly sliding his feet across the white carpeted pavement, he embraced the beauty that engulfed him. A sweet smell of baked pastries suddenly arose into the air and into his lungs, impregnating him. A final calm sigh escaped his perfect, pink lips, and he began to spin. He removed his hands from his pockets and lifted them as he span. He span until he was dizzy, he span until he was nauseous, standing, spinning, succumbed to the twilight. A certain kind of sadness stayed with him in the back of his mind, though, even as he was spinning in absolute contentment. There was one final detail that wasn't quite right. One last thing that should have been, but wasn't. One beautiful presence wasn't with him, and that made his entire existence incomplete.
            Aphrodite wasn't there.
His darling Aphrodite was no longer with him.
